What the site is

HISA Calculator is a free comparison and calculation tool. It lists savings account and GIC rates published by Canadian financial institutions and lets you estimate interest and other outcomes.

We are not a bank, credit union, financial advisor, or dealer, and nothing on the site is financial, tax, or legal advice. We don't know your personal situation. Consider speaking with a qualified professional before making financial decisions.

Rates and information may be wrong or out of date

• We collect rates from institutions’ public websites and show the date we last checked them. Institutions can change rates, promotions, eligibility rules, and fees at any time without telling us.
• Despite our efforts, listings may contain errors or omissions. Always confirm the current rate and terms directly with the institution before you open an account or move money.
• Deposit insurance (CDIC or provincial) depends on the product, the institution, and how your deposit is held. Confirm coverage with the institution or insurer.

Calculator results are estimates

Calculations use simplified assumptions, such as a fixed rate for the whole period, a chosen compounding schedule, promotional rates that end on schedule, and a flat marginal tax rate you select. Real results depend on how each institution calculates and pays interest, your actual balance over time, and your full tax situation. Results are for illustration only and are not a quote, offer, or guarantee.

Links, referrals, and ads

The site links to third-party websites, including financial institutions and referral partners. Some links earn us a commission, and the site may display ads served by Google. See our Affiliate Disclosure. We don't control third-party sites and aren't responsible for their content, products, or privacy practices. Any agreement you make with a financial institution is between you and that institution.

Bank and product names and logos belong to their owners. Their appearance on this site doesn't mean they endorse us or that we have a relationship with them, unless stated.

Acceptable use

You may use the site for your own personal, non-commercial purposes. Please don't copy or republish substantial parts of the site or its rate data, scrape it with automated tools, interfere with its operation, or attempt to access non-public areas.

Our content

The site's design, text, and code are owned by 10C or its licensors. Rate information belongs to the institutions that publish it.

No warranty and limitation of liability

The site is provided “as is” and “as available”, without warranties of any kind, including accuracy, completeness, or fitness for a particular purpose. To the fullest extent permitted by law, 10C is not liable for any loss or damage arising from your use of the site or reliance on its information, including lost interest or investment losses. Nothing in these terms limits any rights you have under consumer protection laws that cannot be waived.

Changes

We may update the site or these terms at any time. Changes take effect when posted here, with a new effective date. Continuing to use the site means you accept the updated terms.

These terms are governed by the laws of the Province of Saskatchewan and the federal laws of Canada that apply there.
